Anyone seen The Sharp End?
Does anyone kow what’s happened to the Home Office-sponsored “The Sharp End” Mag?
The normally unread pile of mags at the nick remains unread, but the cover hasn’t changed for the last 2 - 3 months and I’m getting fed up of looking at that skinhead bloke on the front.
The woefully inadequate website for the mag at www.sharpendmag.org.uk consists of a front page with a link to register for a free copy, some info about their privacy policy & bugger-all else and looks like it hasn’t been changed since the copyright notice of 2004 went up.
Is it still in operation?
The only reason I ask is I need an acceptable mag in which to conceal the porn we read on night shifts.

I received a Home Office propaganda magazine the other week. It was followed by a letter of apology from the publisher saying to the effect of “We apologise for sending identifiable police correspondance (magazines e.g. sharp end) to members of the police service without ensuring discrete packaging.” … Great, some bent handler at the sorting office now has my details… If I stop blogging raise the alarm!

We like the Sharp End down here in our Force. We find it both absorbent and strong, but sometimes quite difficult to flush away and it did block the bog up once.
It is undoubtedly the worse piece of Home Office propoganda that I have ever had the misfortune to clap my eyes upon. I wonder just how much budget is allocated to that magazine? Surely they could divert the much needed funds elsewhere?
