Not just in the UK

Thanks to  regular reader, Boy-on-a-Bike, for this one.

I see it’s just not the UK that has to put up with arseholes on public transport.

Blimey!

Is it really over 3 weeks since I last posted on this blog?

No, I’m not gone. The reports of tumbleweed rolling across this blog are greatly exaggerated. I just thought that after 5 years of posting every single day, I deserved a break.

I must say, it was quite liberating. There were times when maintaining a daily blog was a chore rather than a pleasure. I’ve had between 15 and 30 minutes a day for three weeks extra to myself. And the late night panic before going to bed trying to come up with something to blog about  is now a welcome memory.

So much has happened in the last three weeks. I was pleased to see the funerals of the two GMP police officers receive national attention. I watched both events live on the BBC News channel. Subject to the family’s wishes, of course, I think every funeral of an officer killed on duty should receive such attention. It does seem to be one thing that America do right.

Then there was ‘Pleb Gate’ with that government arsehole who opened his mouth in anger and really revealed what people in his position actually think of the police, and probably a whole range of other working minions. Is it any wonder they have no compunction in shafting us? And we had that sorry playing out of the well rehearsed government-scripted farce where the Prime Minister offers undying love and support for those who have transgressed, realises his mistake, does a good job, needs to get on and run the country, yadda, yadda, yadda, followed by the inevitable ‘resignation’ a few weeks later.

And Jimmy Saville, who’d have thunk it?

Anyway, I’ve managed to go part time so I should have a lot more time for myself, and my family, as I work my way through my fifties and off into old age. As I tell my colleagues at work on a regular basis, keep working and paying those pension contributions, I’ve got a lifestyle to maintain.

I’ll probably post again before three weeks are up this time.
