In the air

Posted in Videos by 200

I’m not sure about the message in the text at the start and end of the video, but this little tribute compilation shows stuff the police deal with on a day to day basis. Although it’s clearly American, you could replace the uniforms and cars for British and pretty much have a similar vid (if there are any I haven’t previously featured, let me know).

(Also, not sure that the song is the most appropriate, either)

“The officer survived and the guy got 60 years in jail”

In this country the officer would be lucky to survive (cant see the scrote stopping at just punching the officer whilst on the ground) and the guy might get 60 hours community service!

The Met had a go at something similar about 15yrs ago. It wasn’t as gutsy and tended to show things like plod doing school crossing patrols and helping lost children. It was set to “The Streets of London” by Ralph McTell (I think). Of course the only people it was shown to was new recruits and Neighbourhood Watch types and didn’t show the “nastier” side of the job nor the impact of the job on the officers concerned but it wasn’t a bad attempt at good publicity.

On an aside, am I the only one who thinks American drivers must be a bunch of blind or drunk tossers??
