Down, down, deeper & down

Posted in The Job - General by 200

An unnamed burglar came met some poetic justice this week after burgling a house in Halifax.

He broke into a house during the early hours. Police were called but did not reach the scene before the hapless man made his escape on foot. He ran from the scene & jumped over a wall at St Thomas’ Church in Boothtown, West Yorkshire.

Sadly, he managed to land on the site of an old well where he broke through the surface & fell 9 metres to the bottom of the well. He was rescued by firefighters after calling 999 on his mobile phone. Police were waiting for him as he was brought to the surface & after being arrested, the man was taken to hospital.

In the words of my children, LOL

Damned shame mobiles work so well at the bottom of wells.

Excellent, can you add trespass and criminal damage on for the well?

What do you think, community order walk out or pathetic fine walk out?

Why couldn’t the water fairies just re-seal the well and leave the oxygen thief in the well ?

It’d be nice to think he’ll be punished appropriately, but somehow I doubt it. I hope the police officers managed to get a few jokes in while questioning him.

I bet he makes a successful claim for damages because he will claim that the well wasn’t securely covered. Pity the well wasn’t full.

Wonder how many times the interviewing officers will start their sentences with “Well…”

Simon, Trumpton couldn’t just leave him down there, he’d pollute the water table.
