He shoots, he scores

Posted in The Job - General by 200

Another day, another overpaid jerk shoots himself in the foot, or is that shoots someone else in the side?

When trawling around the memory banks or Google News section fails to come up with something for the old daily blog, you can always rely on a professional footballer to come up with something.

Ashley Cole, serial shagger & Chelsea star, apparently took a new air rifle to work. The .22 rifle, fitted with a muzzle & night scope somehow got fired at close range at one of the club’s interns at Chelsea’s training ground in Surrey. (I have no idea what a football intern is but I’m guessing it is someone employed by a multi-million-pound business on wages not dissimilar to the minimum wage). 21-year-old Tom Cowan was treated by the team’s medical staff.

The Guardian reports that Cole didn’t realise the weapon was loaded. Police are deciding whether any charges should be brought against Cole. Cole has been fined two week’s wages for breaching club rules about bringing weapons to work. That amounts to a paltry £250,000 fine, or about ten years’ wages for a police officer.

What a tosser.

How could anyone NOT know an air gun is loaded ?
And in any case, whatever happened to “never point a firearm at a person you do not intend to shoot” ?
It just goes to prove the guy is a serious contender for “biggest moron of the century”, and only 11 years into it !

Irrespective of the fact that Cole is a total fucking moron, anyone with a modicum of nouse (oops, I see where I slipped up there with my contradiction) would shoot a weapon into the ground, not at someone if they didn’t know whether it was loaded or not.

God forbid the total numpty actually crack the weapon and look inside to see if it had a pellett!
Seeing as he didn’t do any of those things, he is totally negligent, it was not an accident and the fucking twat should go to jail for attempted murder.

    What a tosser.

    Here endeth my rant.

He should be charged. If I as a MOP shot someone accidentally or not I’d be in the shit.

Obviously there are different laws for facking moronic dickheaded fuckwit footballers like Cole.

String him up I say, string him up…………………and breathe.

I remember years ago (in the 80s) whilst doing basic range training the absolute shoeing that a fellow trainee got when he even gestured that an empty gun might turned in the direction of the staff.

The problem with this country is we are gun phobic (at high levels), in that I mean that we are afraid of them, and no one gets training in how to use them.

Having said that I’ve been to rtanges in the States where some shocking gun control (or lack of) was in evidance. I just put that down to them being Americans!!

Anyway, assult with a weapon, doesn’t that have a mandatory minimum sentance attached to it these days? Charge him and let the courts sort it out.

Rick, the first and most important range training lesson I learned many years ago was this:

    Do not endanger:
    1) The range officer
    2) The weapon
    3) Any bystanders
    4) Yourself

    In that order.

I suggest that he is informed that the best way to check if a firearm is loaded is for him to put the muzzle in his ear and pull the trigger.

This isn’t going to get near a courtroom. The victim will get the fine and to be honest it’s a massive amount of money for a youngster. What would he gain by pressing charges? In his position I would take the money and run (quickly).
