    I was as much surprised by Gadget’s indulgence in adolescent boasting as I was delighted by his declaration to have progressed into politics. It was little short of a career suicide.

    I hope he makes the most of being a politician; having finally outgrown his public service uniform. I give what remains of his police career, a matter of weeks. We must wait and see if he gives it any less.

    Did anyone read the comments? Everyone is banging on about police this and police that. Isnt it the CPS who decide what charges go forward? And the government who started all of the the red tape?
