The boys & girls on traffic in the Midlands are getting to play with some brand new toys.

The Central Motorway Police Group which is conglomeration of Staffordshire, West Mercia & West Mids police drives around the areas motorways. They’ll be using seven new Jaguar XFs soon. Surely the drivers demand the best, the managers demand the cheapest and the public just want us to get there quickly! And the keyboard warriors just want the thing which looks the sexiest :-)

It never ceases to amaze me that the government does not exert more pressure to buy British.

Cars made in Britain mean more income tax and NI fir the government, corporation tax, skilled jobs and fewer benefits. I think that makes a British car 20-30% “cheaper” than an equally priced overseas made car.

Quite why the Met has fleets of BMWs and Prius when you can get some excellent British made cars like the XF, the Discovery, the Astra etc. is beyond me.
