What a Donut

Posted in The Job - General by 200

I loved the heading in today’s Mirror so much that I nicked it.

I can’t imagine the kudos & bragging rights some Australian police officer now has after nicking former World Champion Lewis Hamilton for acting like a boy-racing muppet outside the Grand Prix circuit in Melbourne yesterday. It seems he couldn’t keep his racing accelerator foot in his shoes as he left the circuit after practice & wheel-span his way into the sports, and other, pages of the world’s press.

He’s likely to be summonsed for ‘improper use of a vehicle’ and, how cool is this, he’s had is car impounded for 48 hours.

What a muppet.

Go Jenson!

Why does it seems that common sense and (any kind of) sporting ability seem to be mutually exclusive? Particularly in the young (says granny from the corner?).

I think people are being a bit hard on Mr Hamilton.

Top sportsmen/women do tend to misbehave a bit more than the general public. To me, there is an obvious link.

To get to be the best in most sports, you have to have drive, incredible self-confidence and a little recklessness.

Some sportspeople can get satisfaction of these traits just in the sporting arena. However, should we really be surprised if, just occaisionally, it spills over into real life?

Of course, that doesn’t make it less dangerous.
