I always wonder how accurate the claims are in cases like this, especially when there are no witnesses or unreliable ones, as a result of a complaint made against me a few years back.

I took over a team that included a bolshie, lazy, strident woman who had a reputation for being being the very worst sort of barrack room lawyer.

I had to reprimand her a number of times over the space of six months, with the result that it was heading towards dismissal proceedings.

So I wasn't surprised when, after meeting her for her annual review, she made a formal complaint about my conduct during the review meeting, She claimed that I propositioned her, offering to give her a good review if she slept with me.

I was carpeted by my boss, who didn't attempt to get my side of the story and simply ranted about how I'd let the side down, how bad this would look, blah, blah, blah.

I simply sat quietly and smiled at him, which I knew would infuriate him as he was a control-freak prat. When he was nicely red-faced and finger wagging, I smiled even more and said "Perhaps you'd like to hear this?"

I took a digital recorder out of my pocket, popped it on his desk and hit "play". Yes, I'd recorded the entire meeting with the lying cow.

There were a few grumbles from various people about the "legality" of my covert recording (to which I replied that if it hadn't been covert, she wouldn't have been caught out), but the result was that she quit a hop, step and a jump ahead of disciplinary action.

Oh, and my boss (and various other prats) were very, very wary about what they said to me after that because they never knew if I was recording or not...

This reminds me of the time -one of many, so maybe there'e some truth in it- ,when a customer climbed into my cab and for some reason, best known to himself, that I looked like a real C---. At the time I didn't know what to do. I was so incensed the anger remained with me a couple of days. Eventually I decided to go back to the house and put a brick through the window. I jusy hope I got the right one...oops! Much better than a measley 11k, though.

Is facial hair like that acceptable in the police?! I thought there were dress/appearance standards?

£11k is ridiculous, a bollocking for comparing him to Bin Laden would have been about right (but he DOES look like a prat).

when a prisoner said to me, 'you are only doing this because I am black'

I replied, 'you are only saying that because I am White-what would you say
if I was a black officer'.

He was stunned...

We will never move on past prejudice until we all FORGET
what we look like and focus on how we behave.

The HR guy needs a gaffer with balls (remember them?) to
give him a dressing down big time.

Or the bobby to say feck off moron..

If he was already a PC in what way was he being discriminated against? He didn`t get turned down for a job. And (not that it matters I know) did he say these things to his face or was someone else offended on his behalf?

Anyway, I reckon he would have done vastly more good for the cause of genuine minorities everywhere if he`d simply said: "Oi you white honky trash, just 'cos you can`t tell the difference between an International terrorist and a sworn officer of her Majesty don`t take your inadequacy out on me. Find yourself another job!".

Equally I`d like to see the Muslim officer demand the guy got a b*ll*cking without having to get a payout on the side. Let normal disciplinary procedure sort out the rudeness and inappropriate comments, without trying to make it out to be more than it is.

Do you really want to be treated as an equal by your colleagues because you ARE equal? Or because it might cost your employer a bundle of cash if they don`t?

1. I dealt with a case where a very left leaning 'right on' liberal type shunted an asian male's car away from the petrol pumps and delivered him a tirade of racial abuse. All because the victim spent too long at the tills and caused a queue.

2. An asian male made a complaint of racial abuse against his white neighbour. When informed that enquiries ahad been made at the address of another asian male who had seen the incident, but reported it differently, the asian 'victim' replied. 'Don't believe him, he's just a stupid P*k*.

So, not just the racists are racist.

It really makes you wonder. An active serviceman doesn't get that much for being injured in the line of duty. I reckon if his 'race/religion' can't take the odd knock, he is in the wrong job. As for Mr Yates, he is definitely in the wrong job.

A mate of mine used to be an HR manager in a very left leaning govt department stuff full of jackbook-wearing lesbians and one-armed interpretative mime dwarves. He was reponsible for implementing all sorts of equal opportunity and non-discrimination policies.

Whenever he needed a replacement secretary, he'd ring the agency and demand they send him a "blonde with big tits".

Somehow, he always got away with it.

I'd have just punched that manager in his nose had it been me. 11 grand can't buy you that type of satisfaction, can it?
