There but for the grace…

A police officer is killed in the USA every 57 hours.

The murder of Constable Darrell Lunsford of the Nacogdoches County Constable’s Office was captured on his dashboard cam in 1991.

Brings it all home especially when the duty governor told my relief that the new commissioner wants single patrols.

    Singe crewing just doesn’t work!!

The time it takes an officer to book in a prisoner, crime reports, etc, with two officers it take half the time at least, bearing in mind you need an officer to assist in DP transport,
Safety and from a point of evidence, searching( You can’t as I recall under PACE conduct a search on your own, etc, it just doesnt work.

You had a previous post about Officer Chad Michels! A very sad video-,single crewed, when will the powers that be be it UK or USA learn that officers on their own are just hanging themselves out on their arse.

Many officers work (worked 5 years in my case) on response, single crewed,ET/LT and even NT on occassions I took the risk, but there was absolutley no fun at all, just bloody hard work> Firearms, Tazers, well as your post shows it doesnt work as a single crewed officer, evidentially, and more importantly officers lives and MOP safety will be compromised
