I was kind of surprised to be honest, I was on the square for a bit, estimated numbers being 4-5 thousand, maybe half that turned up.

I think pictures of me turned up on a variety of facebook accounts. Sadly I doubt I will be tagged. I am happy to get your details if 200 doesnt mind sending them to my email address?

How did you get into that then Mark? Through St John Ambulance? I felt kind of sorry for the guy working the paramedic car in Notts, he kept waving as he went speeding past us, paramedic driving and the police officer in the front of the car hanging on, usually pulling faces.

Happy New Year All!

Special in Notts - I'm a Community First Responder - part of what you might call the "Special Ambulance". I was out last night (in Derby) and get paid the same as you - SFA. We ought to be in contact; if 200 will let you have my email, I'd like to commuicate. (200, I hereby give my permission.)

Derby was fairly Q. The crews on the trucks were moderately busy, but I was second-manning a Fast Response Vehicle, and it got a bit boring. Mind you, early on in the evening yellow jackets (ambulance & police) outnumbered the punters.

It was interesting. In and out of the A&E department in my fair city, but other than that quite Q really.

Got my first solo violent arrest in. That was an experience and a half, just taken a prisoner back from the hospital to the custody suite and my sergeant asks me if I can show the new officer on my shift where A&E is, so off I go, with a new prisoner in tow. We get there and I get called over by the nurses and end up nicking someone for affray.

First real violent arrest, weird drugged up bloke. So I am not too disappointed and I got to put together the handover and get rid of him sharpish.

Hope you guys had a good on?

Absolutely shattered, but a very Q night. In and out of the hospital though, first as a prisoner watch, got back to custody suite,

"Ahh Special, could you go with the new 'un and show her the ropes down at A&E? Cheers mate. I'll send one of the guys down when I get a chance."

"Yes Sarge."

Turn up at A&E and almost immediately get waved over by the nurses to nick someone for affray, leaving the poor probie stood holding our original prisoner and me kneeling on the new one.

First real violent arrest though.

Hope you had a new good year 200:-D
