Another One Bites the Dust?

Posted in Blogging by 200

The ‘Law is a Donkey‘ in his last two posts has been agonising over whether to continue his blog having received some attention in the local press in Camden and the Evening Standard.

Funnily enough, quite a few people have been Googling ‘the law is a donkey blog’ today, presumably as a result of the articles, and have arrived at 200Weeks (welcome, sorry to disappoint!).

The officer over at the Law is a Donkey was wondering whether Professional Standards might be worming their
way towards him and consequently whether to continue posting. I guess the answer may have come sooner than he thought as the blog is currently showing as unavailable.

Is this another police blog having been closed down?

Damm shame. Have connections to the job (marital) and hate to see real life and “humanism” being shoved aside for proper form. :veryangry: Try and keep up the good work. Otherwise we shall end as Police Officers being thought of as aliens from god knows where. :pullhair:

Sad news that ‘Law is a Donkey’ has ceased his blog.

However, since the top brass are a little sensitive when it comes to officer blogs, you guys should try to remain as anonomous as possible. I can’t help but feel that ‘Law is a Donkey’ shot himself in the foot slightly – revealing that he was based in Camden and has passed Ospre part one. It narrows the field of culprits somewhat!

It’s a shame you guys have to remain anonomous about locations and other details etc, but it seems essential if you are to survive in the current climate!

RIP ‘Law is a Donkey’ blog.

You’ll notice from my blog that I very rarely talk about incidents I’ve attended for the very reason that Bergerac mentions. Another thing I don’t do is post to my blog using my work e-mail address or update the site from the work computer.

Surprisingly enough, it wouldn’t be too difficult for the IT department to set up a filter on all outgoing mail to identify that they are being sent to blogs. It then doesn’t take much to see which machine they came from and who was logged on at the time. The same can be done with visits to web pages.

Beware all ye who use the jobs computer to do your personal stuff

Had several “Guvners” speak to me about my blog – As long as I don’t do it at work (blog that is !) and don’t embarrass TVP they don’t seem to mind ! As quite a lot of them were of my era and have been mentioned when they were humble plods (one of my graduating class is an ACC now !)It brings back memories of days when we were young and fit(ter!) – So its a shame when a promising blog gets binned
as they say in the states
    “Semper fi!”

The donkeyblog is gone indeed…. apologies to all who were reading it! I wasn’t disciplined, but was told I would be if it carried on, and I never planned on being a martyr so it had to go, really. Sorry to all who had to change their bloglists! But the donkey is now quite thoroughly a dead donkey.

I had only just added his blog to my list when he went! What a shame it is too. Like Lennie, I have had to redo my whole one again! Damn PSD!
